＜解説＞
歌詞および構成はメアリイ・ケイ・トリオのバージョンをもとにしている。つまりオリジナル。
作者のノーマン・ケイことノーマン・カアイフエは1922年アメリカ生まれ。音楽一家の家庭で育ち、父親のバンド、ジョニー・カアイフエ・ロイヤル・ハワイアンに参加。第二次世界大戦後に退役すると、2歳下の妹のメアリイ・ケイ、コメディアンのフランク・ロスとメアリイ・ケイ・トリオを結成。1947年、ラスベガスで初ステージに立つ。以後ラウンジ・ミュージック・バンドの先駆けとして、ラスベガスで長きにわたって活躍した。なんとカジノを楽しむ人々のために、深夜1時から明け方6時まで演奏をしたという。2012年に亡くなった。ロスは1995年に、メアリイは2007年に先立たれている。4回結婚していて4度目は2006年だというから、御年84歳で新婚さんであった。
メアリイ・ケイ・トリオのオリジナル音源が聴けるのも、山内アラニ雄喜さん監修のベスト盤CDに収録されているから。感謝。2016年現在、中古で購入可。
