I rise to see the colors in the valley

Cast by the early morning light

The sun rises high above the pali

I have never seen a more beautiful sight

 

 *There is a place in the valley

   That always sets my soul and spirit free

 

 **Mānoa, i ka luna o ka pali

     Ke ‘ala malie o pīkake

     Mānoa, kahawai uluwehi

     Ke aloha nō kuʻu home o Hawaiʻi

 

E mālama i ka ʻāina ʻōiwi

 

The moon rises high above the mountains

The misty rain passes through its light

Clouds drift gently across the valley

The scent of ʻawapuhi fills the night
